Summer Shattering Guide
by SiegH
I made this quick guide because the game can be quite confusing due to its heavy reliance on randomness. I’ll cover the basic controls and how to start every route and reach the endings you want.
Recommendation: Use MTL (machine translation) if you can’t read Japanese. It helps a lot with figuring things out, though some lines may occasionally break the game (not sure if this is a universal issue).
Core Mechanics
You play as Keita, who has returned to his childhood village and is now living with his childhood friend Ryoka and her older sister Saki.
The goal is to raise your stats by:
Collecting random items (mostly bugs)
Doing part-time jobs
Working out
Interacting with the environment while spending time with Ryoka
You are meant to play as an oblivious, cowardly cuck — the MC has no H-scenes except possibly in the “happy” ending (which I’m not personally interested in).
Hotkeys / Tools:
Q — Opens your phone. You can call Ryoka (she may answer and give clues about her activities) or browse lewd forum threads (mostly about Ryoka). You can only use the phone 3 times per day unless you buy extra chargers.
W — Opens the calendar (to check the current day and upcoming events).
T — Fast-forwards time by 1 hour.
A — Returns you to the front of your house.
C — Closes Ryoka’s diary (used to re-watch unlocked H-scenes — the game never explains this).
Events trigger randomly when returning home or moving around the map. There are also skippable morning events on certain days. Neither of these event types contains H-scenes.
Unlocking H-Scenes
There are two characters who get H-scenes: Ryoka and Saki.
Ryoka’s Routes:
To start a route, interact with exclamation marks (!) while Ryoka is with you and meet certain conditions. The game is heavily randomized — even after starting a route, the frequency of Ryoka meeting the “villains” is mostly luck-based.
Tips:
If you don’t get the scene you want, try loading a save and fast-forwarding time.
For more reliable results, focus on only one route at a time and avoid interacting with other exclamation marks.
Ryoka moves around the map. Watch her icon on the overworld — if you see a pink heart when she’s with someone, it means a new scene has been added to the diary.
Collect all scenes for a particular villain to reach that ending.
Always check new interactive objects in the environment, especially when Ryoka is with you.
Saki’s Routes
Saki has 3 independent routes that can all be completed in a single playthrough.
Scenes appear as soon as the pink heart shows up, but you must be alone (without Ryoka) to view them — otherwise Ryoka stops you to “protect” you from trauma.
The schedule for Saki’s working days is shown on a note in the kitchen.
1. The Bar Route (Monday & Saturday)
Location: The house in the second row with the blue banner.
Interact with Saki (!) on days she’s working twice (on separate days).
The next time you enter the bar on a working day, she’ll be in the large empty room surrounded by men. Interact with the door to start the scene.
Repeat a few more days to progress.
For the final event, the door is locked — go to the (!) in the bathroom to climb up and peek from above.
Total: 4 H-scenes
2. The Store Route (Tuesday & Thursday)
Location: The last house on the upper left (not the tent).
Visit the shop on a day she’s working.
Give the old man whatever he asks for (buy the items from shops in town).
Wait until 2:00 PM — the two of them will go upstairs and a pink heart will appear.
Total: 3 H-scenes
3. The Shelter Route (Wednesday & Sunday)
Go to the city and talk to the homeless guy standing next to Saki (he’ll have a (!) mark). Do this on two different days.
The next time you visit them outside, a scene will trigger.
After that, the pink heart will appear on the tent to the right.
You can also find a photo of the 3rd day’s event left outside the shelter.
Total: 4 H-scenes
Ryoka’s Routes
Ryoka is Keita’s childhood friend, and it’s obvious that the two are in love with each other. However, because the MC is a cowardly and passive guy, Ryoka ends up getting pursued by 5 different villain characters. Completing a route with one of them will lock you out of the others, so you can only finish one Ryoka route per playthrough.
Once you trigger the final event with a villain, that route becomes locked in. Any ending you reach will unlock the recollection room in the main menu, but it will only contain the scenes from the route you actually completed (plus all Saki scenes you’ve already viewed).
1. Happy / True Love Ending
To get the happy ending:
Avoid all exclamation marks (!) while Ryoka is with you.
Never leave her alone — always stay by her side.
Spend as much time with her as possible.
On the final day, Keita will confess to her and they will get together. This is the only ending where the MC has an H-scene.
2. Normal / Bad Ending (No Route Completed)
Simply play the game without completing any villain route.
Ryoka can sleep with the other guys up until the very end, but as long as you don’t trigger the final event with any of them, you will reach this ending.
Keita remains a coward and never confesses. The two part ways at the end of summer.
(No H-scene for the MC in this ending.)
3. Oyama Route (Dirty old man living just below your house)
Talk to Oyama with Ryoka present (he must have a ! mark).
Talk to the village chief in the bar where Saki works (left of Oyama’s hut).
After that, you will occasionally see Ryoka and Oyama together near his hut, or a ! mark on the ground that triggers Ryoka entering his house.
4. Masaru Route (Freckled weakling who works at the onsen)
Talk to Masaru with Ryoka at the onsen (he has a ! mark). The onsen is below Oyama’s hut, next to the house under construction.
Go to school and overhear girls talking about bullying (Ryoka’s presence may or may not be required).
Return home to unlock a memory scene.
After that, scenes will mainly occur at the fenced courtyard with the shack (bottom right exit of the onsen area).
5. Nobuo Route (Spoiled rich kid with a bad attitude)
Go to the liquor store (house left of the bar) with Ryoka and talk to the two arguing men (keep visiting until you see the ! mark).
Visit Nobuo at his mansion (upper right exit).
Talk to Nobuo near the stairs on Wednesdays and Fridays (he will have a pink heart).
He will propose a bet. Accept it and play cards with him. If you lose, he takes Ryoka into his tent while a kid blocks your way.
6. Daisuke Route (Loud, dumb, perverted musclehead)
Work part-time at the video rental shop (second building in the upper row in town) on Tuesday or Thursday, twice.
After that, you will start seeing the pink heart when Ryoka is with him on the other side of the river in the village.
Later, a heart will appear on the ground in town, triggering a scene where Ryoka rushes to meet him at his house.
7. The Vagrant Route (Dirty homeless pervert)
Find him in the city (take the train), sitting on a bench right under the prep school.
Talk to him, then enter the prep school and get a brochure.
Return home — Ryoka will learn about the prep school.
Go to school and study by yourself (sparkling chair in the bottom-left room).
Since she can’t rely on you, Ryoka starts going to the prep school, and the vagrant takes notice.
When you see Ryoka’s icon in the city, go there. You will see the vagrant with a heart even while she’s inside the school.
Later she will follow him into his tent. Toward the end of the route, the train stops working and you must walk to the city.
In the final stages, the vagrant moves into the empty house at the bottom left of the village, where the heart will appear.
8. Yasui Route (Dark-skinned playboy classmate)
Talk to Yasui with Ryoka when he has a ! mark in the classroom.
Go into town and talk to the weak-looking boy near the clothes store (under the video rental shop). Ryoka may need to be present.
Go to the city, enter the narrow alley to the right, and go into the club (two black guys will have moved away).
Inside the club, talk to the girl with the ! mark → you get drugged and compromising evidence is created.
Yasui uses this to blackmail Ryoka.
After that, Ryoka’s icon will appear in the city. Go there and interact with the karaoke bar (upper left) — you’ll hear a “couple” inside.
Additional scenes will occur at the karaoke bar and later in the classroom.
Important Notes:
Most routes have special unskippable events (though the H-scenes inside them can usually be skipped).
There is a big festival event on August 25.
The game will warn you about “points of no return”, including the very last day.
The day after the final day is a field trip that leads to one of the endings.
It’s recommended to earn money and raise your stats through workouts, jobs, and collecting items, just to be safe.
